Happy May the 4th. I saw Star Wars in it’s original release in 1977 (I was 7). After that it was on. In the pre-VHS/DVD days, we took what we saw and applied our own imaginative spin on it, by creating our own adventures with the toys. It was great. That is me on Christmas morning with my Star Wars haul.
As a kid I was fortunate enough to collect every Star Wars figure made (1977-1985). Some of the later figures (‘84/’85) I had to pick up in the early 90’s from other collectors (seems puberty destroyed my will to play with action figures after ‘83). In any case, during the roaring 90’s no one really cared about Star Wars figures. What you see here are figures I picked up throughout the 90’s at flea markets and junk stores. For some reason, I just couldn’t leave them there, even though I had a full collection at home. Most cost less than $1 a piece. Now, thanks to ebay, every jackwagon that finds a Darth Vader in his attic, thinks it is worth a million bucks.
